About the company
Cleared Safe LLC exists for the projects where ordinary contractors have to stop: munitions in the dredge prism, hazards on the harbor bottom, contamination that has to be handled before construction can move. We plan, supervise, and execute that work safely — and get the site turned back over to the project.
Our team is built from retired Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Master Technicians — the Navy's highest EOD qualification — and retired Navy divers, with extensive ordnance and diving experience spanning both military service and commercial work. Operations are led by a Senior Unexploded Ordnance Supervisor (SUXOS), and every job is run to the safety and documentation standards federal work demands.
The people
The credential that matters most in this work is who's actually on the job. Ours came up through the hardest schools in the field.
The Navy's highest Explosive Ordnance Disposal qualification — earned over full careers rendering safe ordnance of every category, in every environment, including underwater. That experience now carries directly into commercial UXO/MEC work.
Career military divers with deep experience in salvage, construction, and working-dive operations — transitioned into commercial diving with the discipline, planning habits, and safety culture the Navy builds in.

Detection, investigation, and clearance of unexploded ordnance and munitions of explosive concern — surface, subsurface, and underwater. Anomaly avoidance, escort, and construction support, planned and supervised by a SUXOS.
Working dive operations in support of construction, inspection, salvage, and clearance — run under formal dive plans with the supervision, tending, and documentation that regulated work requires.
Crewed vessel support for marine construction and survey work: dive platforms, positioning, load-out, and on-water logistics that keep in-water operations moving on schedule.
Assessment, handling, and remediation of hazardous materials beyond ordnance — with the flexibility to scale crews and equipment to project-specific remediation needs.
For prime contractors
Specialized scopes like in-water UXO clearance can make or break a bid. Cleared Safe partners with prime contractors as a subcontractor that closes that gap — and adds SDVOSB credit to the team while doing it.
Retired Navy EOD Master Technicians and Navy divers take on the UXO, dive, and hazmat line items that fall outside a general contractor's core capability.
